“Alright… One last battle, then that’s it.” [break][break]

Dorado isn’t one to really ask Angelo for much. Personally, the Meowth doesn’t pay much attention to his official trainer if he can help it, being the devout ‘sailor in training’ that he was. But after the humiliating defeat of Zac Ramsay’s Dunsparce and the near drowning that followed, the proud feline is itching so sink his claws into a good scrap. [break][break]

And honestly, Angelo’s not willing to let the menace take his frustrations out on his clothes any longer. Although some threads in his jeans have been torn when the pirate-wannabe had spotted a vacant battlefield; near scratching through the material to try and drag the pilot over to claim it.[break][break]

Now they just had to wait for their opponent. Angelo making grooves in the sand with his boot toe and Dorado pacing, bristling like the savage seafarer that he was.

Raki knew nothing except the need for victory. He had been briefly happy for a moment after having met Bam, Cardamom Bliss' Riolu, but then he had gone and had his shoulder near broken, and then he had gone and had his ass beaten by a freshly caught Horsea after a pathetic display in front of everyone!

Eva Morales had said he should rest and do nothing... But he refused.

So he had run off with Gwyar's phone. He had seen the man work it before.

If he wouldn't help him find battles, he would find them himself!

And so, that is how angelo vestri found himself staring at a Riolu with a cast on his left arm, and a cellphone on his right, glaring heatedly even as he panted, clearly in no condition to fight but all too eager anyway.

It doesn’t matter whether the Riolu is injured. When cat sees dog, both with fire in their eyes and filled with the lust for battle, there’s no stopping Dorado. [break][break]

With a flash of sharp teeth and CLAWS HONED like glittering blades, the Galarian Meowth directs both towards Raki; beckoning. Challenging with an insolent wave of his paw. [break][break]

Only Angelo, out of the two of them, seems to notice that the puppy has a cast on its arm. Blue eyes scanning around the crowds, bustling with the last-minute surge of competitors feverishly attempting to scramble points together. [break][break]

“Anyone out there lost a phone? Or a dog… Or had a phone stolen by a one-armed Riolu bandit?”

Gwyar had, as a matter of fact, lost his phone to a one armed Riolu bandit- and to say he was quite alarmed by this would have been an understatement.

Unfortunately, he was not nearby just yet- though he was searching feverishly as they spoke.

For his part, Raki seemed to grasp what angelo vestri was asking looking about for, and immediately attempted to (ineffectively) hide the smart phone behind himself.

Before Angelo can walk over to try and pick up the little injured guy, Dorado strikes. [break][break]

The Riolu had entered the circle of his own volition, had stared the feline in the eye in challenge. There was no escape. His pride as a sailor and the burning desire to make his beloved captain proud means that, for the Galarian Meowth, there is no retreat. There is no losing. Never again…[break][break]

Claws sharpened and gleaming in the sun, kicking up sand as he advances with a manical grin, Dorado swipes towards his rival-of-the-hour with a METAL CLAW.

Raki wasn't afraid. He could fight, shoulder and all.

Dropping the phone as the other came, he stepped forward towards the swipe ducking towards it as his right arm came, locking elbows with the cat before ramming his hip info him and attempting to swing him into the floor with a judo throw.

Thrown onto the sand, Dorado snarls; releasing a METAL SOUND straight into the Riolu’s ear to try and disorientate.[break][break]

Feral, filled with rage and a burning desire to fight the metal cat squirms out of the dog’s grasp regardless of whether his battle cry had struck an eardrum of not. Scrambling to his paws with an almighty hiss, barbed fur fluffing to make himself larger. He wasn’t afraid of no dog! [break][break]

Angelo, meanwhile, skirts the battlefield to pick up the abandoned phone. Dusting off sand with a nonchalant exhale before wiping it on his trousers. Someone would be along shortly, he figured. Didn’t want Dorado to smash it in the meantime.

The Metal sound reverberates through him, sending shudders over his frame that have him releasing his opponent before he can truly take advantage of it.

Stumbling away from the cat, Raki narrows his gaze at him, before barking angrily, his yips loud.

Nearby, a worried blonde man turns around at the familiar sound, before breaking into a sprint towards it!

Raki, for his part, blasted Dorado with his own move, the metallic sound somehow ripping out of the little puppy's throat!

Raki used copycat!

Used to loud, piercing noises, Angelo doesn’t seem bothered when two sets of high-pitched squeals ring through the air. It’s got nothing growing up as a teenager with five new-born siblings, born in quick succession one after another, after all. [break][break]

Dorado shudders and shows his fangs as the noise rattles through his spikes, fuming at the audacity of the Riolu using his own move against him. It’s a cruel and unusual punishment then, that in retaliation to the retaliation, he proudly unleashes the move that skyler dross had so carefully trained him on; punching a fist towards Raki’s neck with a merciless THROAT CHOP. [break][break]

If it lands, Dorado will have to re-enact the scene for his captain later when he tells her of his beach battle tales. Probably exaggerated.

Raki found that he couldn't really respond in kind. Trying to move quickly jolted his injury and almost made him collapse, the contents of his stomach swirling inside him and threatening to puke out.

If that hit him... well, he would certainly find out if he was as sturdy as he liked to think.

Unfortunately for Dorado, he would have to settle with a win through interference, however.

Barreling through the crowds of people like the terminator came a massive beast of a man on a mission.

A 195 cm tall, 250 pounds heavy muscle bound blonde sprinted towards the battle with the terrifying speed of a college football star athlete, a fucking spring-loaded knife tearing out of his sleeve as he leapt like a baseball player going for the run, his arm swinging to parry the cat's terrifying chop before tucking and rolling across the sand, his unsuitable for the weather black suit filling with the dust like particles as he sprang back to his full height in front of Angelo.

"We surrender." He said, folding his arm over his chest while bowing politely.

Unfortunately, Dorado would never get to tell skyler dross the tale of how he’d singlehandedly beat the Riolu in combat, taking the glory with their signature throat chop. His metal claws would ring only against the steel of a blade, Raki’s neck nowhere to be found. [break][break]

Meanwhile, blue eyes have to do a double take because not only did the stranger explode his way through the crowd out of seemingly nowhere, he’d also drawn a knife on his cat… He can’t say he blames the guy. Angelo had been tempted more than once to do the same. [break][break]

Knowing what’s coming, Angelo snatches Dorado around the middle as he screeches and slashes his claws towards the blonde’s direction. Fury prickling in every steel fibre of the seafarer’s fur while the pilot grimaces, teeth clenched as he wrestles the maniac back. [break][break]

“The fight’s over, Dora- Ow! You fu…” Claws sink into his arm, an all-too-common response to him daring to pick up the savage. “Sorry, man. Your little guy alright?”

Gwyar turned his attention towards Raki at Angelo's question. The little puppy refused to look him in the eye, simply clicking his tongue while staring at the sand and holding his bad shoulder.

Gwyar sighed.

"Well... He will be, eventually." He simply said as he approached Raki. The puppy still didn't look at him, but put up no resistance as he was plucked off the ground.

Turning around face Angelo, the man bowed once again.

"My heartfelt apologies for this. It seems I continue to underestimate Raki's zeal." He said simply, seemingly blind to the cat's furious temper. "... Ah. Did Raki perchance have a phone with him?"

“Nah. Dorado’s the brat. Would you believe me if I told you he wasn’t mine?” A small curl materialises at the corner of Angelo’s lips, reaching out with a light joke. Only, it’s just exactly wrong… Dorado’s loyalties remained more with his captain than the one who’d officially caught him. [break][break]

When it seems that the Meowth has cooled down a little – or at least lessened to a sulking simmer – Angelo places him back on the sand, wherein sand is kicked against his boot. Fucking charmer…[break][break]

“Yeah, he did.” Reaching into his pocket, Angelo plucks out the phone Raki the Riolu had stolen and promptly dropped. “Hope there’s not too much sand stuck in there.”

Gwyar laughed.

"There's no shame in a bratty child, young man." He said playfully, "I should hope so anyway, my eldest daughter was and remains quite the brat to this day."

Not to mention Raki himself... Maybe he wasn't too good at the whole parenting thing. Though his youngest was angelo... eh, one out of three ain't bad.

His gaze shifted down to the phone, grasping it gently.

"Thank you... I hope so as well." He said wryly; it was the phone INTERPOL used to contact him. If it got rekt, explaining how to his superiors would certainly be a treat.
